The Opportunity Gateway of the Athlete Economy
Kivuko · The Crossing is a sport-careers marketplace and a skills-building engine. It connects people to meaningful work in sport, media, and entertainment, and to the learning that makes them more employable, across Africa and the Gulf.
What Kivuko Is
Kivuko is the consumer-facing expression of the Interaction layer of Podium Pursuit, the operating platform for the Athlete Economy. Where Podium Pursuit verifies, values, and indexes talent, Kivuko is where that talent crosses into careers, deals, capital, and credentials. It is not only an athlete gateway. It serves three crossings on one verified surface.
A crossing place; a ford or point of passage. The place where one passes from one side to the other.
The act or moment of crossing over; a transition from one state, place, or stage of life to the next.
figurative. The gateway through which talent in sport crosses into careers, commercial opportunity, and credentials, and rises.
From the verb kuvuka, to cross over, from a Proto-Bantu root meaning to rise. In the source language, the crossing and the rising are the same word.
One Gateway, Three Crossings
Active and retired athletes crossing into brand deals, capital, and post-career pathways.
The people who make sport run, plus the next generation trying to get in.
Courses, micro-credentials, and accreditation that lift the profile and the match.
About
Kivuko is one venture inside a larger design. It is helpful to know who built the ground beneath it, and how the pieces hold together.
The recognition that athletes are not assets to be valued and traded, but architects of value in their own right. Their names, nations, journeys, and fan communities all carry economic potential. The thesis that runs through everything: architected, not discovered.
A South African based sports intelligence and athlete economy development company, founded to build the infrastructure that powers African sport from grassroots to global podium. ProTouch operates at the intersection of sport, technology, investment, and human capital development, and architected the Athlete Economy.
The operating system of the Athlete Economy, powered by the BuntuAI Intelligence Engine. It integrates identity systems, intelligence frameworks, valuation models, participation environments, and capital pathways into a single architecture, and holds the spine: the five layers that make athletes identifiable, measurable, valued, connected, and fundable.
The wider ecosystem of founders, institutions, investors, federations, and athletes builds the application layer on top: the products, ventures, and partnerships that bring each layer to life. Kivuko is one of them, sitting in the Interaction layer.
Where It Fits
A rival can build a feed and a directory in a quarter. It cannot build the four layers beneath it. Kivuko draws verified Identity, BuntuAI Intelligence, and Index valuation from the layers around it, and returns value through Investment.
Africa and the Gulf, One Corridor
Kivuko spans more than 6,000 profiles across 62 nations: 54 African, the 6 GCC states, and Jordan and Lebanon. Capital, federations, and competition pathways increasingly run across Africa and the Gulf as a single corridor, and the workforce moves through it the same way the athletes do.
The Gulf already hosts the world’s marquee sport, from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar to Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi and the 2034 FIFA World Cup in Saudi Arabia. It is now developing its own Events IP, from LIV Golf to new leagues and formats originated in the region, generating sustained, year-round demand for a skilled sport, media, and entertainment workforce.

How Learning Feeds the Match
A low Match Readiness Score is not a verdict. It surfaces the exact skills a candidate needs for a target role.
The system recommends specific courses and credentials, drawn from the catalogue and mapped to the same role taxonomy.
Verified learning lifts the 15% learning factor, the score rises, and the candidate surfaces higher against roles.
The Flagship Qualification
The Learning Crossing builds toward a premier, globally recognised qualification delivered in the Podium Pursuit home market: the MSc in Sports Management and Events at Les Roches Abu Dhabi. It is the benchmark above the courses and micro-credentials, and it nearly caps the learning factor on its own.
Governance, events, marketing, analytics, and commercial strategy, in one of the world’s leading hospitality and sport-management schools.
Transition pathways part-funded by the Impact Fund, with athlete-to-MSc routes and cohort sponsorship by federations and brands.
Blended and online access to the material, localised modules, stackable micro-credentials, and regional study centres.
The Credential Score Boost
Verified learning is the learning factor in the Match Readiness Score. Points accrue per relevant verified credential, with accredited learning weighted above non-accredited certificates.

|---|---|---|
| Kivuko Micro-Credential | Auto-verified on-platform | +15 each |
